Vintage bench

This is not the first time I show this vintage bench on my blog, in fact: it’s almost 2 years old already. I bought it quite impulsively but I loved it the minute I saw it and the love isn’t over yet. At this point it has seen pretty much all the rooms of the house and that’s the great thing about it. It looks good anywhere! This week I decided I wanted to see what it looked like on our dining table, and I like it. Although I really love the usual mix of chairs and colors, this vintage feel gives this area something extra.

I bought this bench in a dark brown color, see the first blogpost about it HERE. On the photos it might look black, but in reality it was a poorly painted dark brown oil job. Such a shame! I had to do something about it, and I doubted between black and white a long time. Eventually I chose white but nowadays I’m thinking about painting it black again. But since it would take a few hours, I don’t think I will do it in the near future. For the last months it was in our attic, see it HERE. With some plants on top I liked that as well.

But for now we have it on our dining table. I have a few vintage items in our house and they are items I don’t think I will ever part with. They add a lot of character to a home and I love items with a story. This vintage bench I bought via a Facebook group, the seller picked it up in Sweden himself. It wasn’t even out of his truck yet when I arrived to buy it. He loved that I was so enthusiastic about it. So after two years I still am and I hope I can tell this story for a long time still.

A bench on your table looks a lot different than chairs, and I always encourage people to see if a bench works for them as well. It’s a little more unique and I like that. Maybe this post will inspire you to try it out, I would like that! If it does, let me know :)
