After a lot of talks if we wanted a Christmas tree in the house this year, we finally decided to give it a go. Last week my husband was busy renovating the kitchen and I felt the house was a little too “restless” for a tree but the alternative didn’t feel right as well. And then I got a final push; I spotted a Christmas tree centred in a bay window and I loved it. After showing it to my husband we concluded; that’s what we wanted as well! So yesterday we went on a tree hunt and got ourselves a size bigger as we usually do. You can spot our previous trees HERE, HERE and HERE if you’re interested. While much changes around the house are happening (so obvious when looking back!) you can see we’ve always liked our Christmas tree pretty minimal, haha.
I’m not a type of girl that goes all out for Christmas. As a matter of fact, I have never bought Christmas decoration myself. I know, I’m a rare breed ;-)
It’s just that I find it a little silly to buy all this stuff for such a short amount of time. And I don’t particularly like Christmas deco, with their glitters and lights and such. So, we always keep it simple with a tree and some lights. And we really enjoy that!
With the Christmas tree in our bay window we only had to make some little adjustments to our home. Moved Mia’s play area, the Togo a bit to the left and we were done already.
A while ago I painted this area in “Studio Green” by Farrow & Ball and it matches the tree perfectly. I have and will always love contrasts when it comes to interior ♥
So, do you go all out with Christmas decoration?
Thank you for reading!
Love, Marrit
