I recently expressed my desire for more photography and art in our house via Instagram and I’m happy to say I can already share a new project on my blog today. I already had a lot of prints and photos laying around I wanted to do something with, so a gallery wall felt like a perfect idea. And I coincidentally had a perfect wall for it! This one in our bedroom, to be exact.
I already added this Egon Schiele print above our bed after I fell in love with it in this hometour. I fell in love with this house, the combination of natural materials, design classics (a few new ones on my wishlist, sigh..) and art was perfect to me. I especially loved the print in the bedroom and with some help of my friends I found out it was Egon Schiele. Turns out, I love all of his work! So I think it’s safe to say that this won’t be the last piece of him I will add to our house, but we’ll see.
Back to the gallery wall. Some new prints, but mostly ones I already had. I wanted it to be “an organized mess” so I decided to do different frames this time (instead of this gallery wall we did earlier). I made a mix of black, wooden and gold frames and the result is just what I was going for.
What I do when I create a gallery wall is lay it out on the floor at first. This way you can see what works best and which frames you can combine for the perfect shape. With this bedroom wall we were restricted with size, so I had to make it work on the floor first. I also made sure that similar prints wouldn’t be next to each other, like the two female bodies.
Now let’s show you where everything is from :)
