We’ve been reading to Mia ever since she was a tiny baby and we still love doing so. She’s at an age where she picks books from the shelves herself and starts “reading” and it’s so cute. Next to that we read her before bedtime and sometimes she comes running to me with a book during the day. Needless to day; we love books! Because we’ve had some new great additions to our book collection, I thought I would write a part 2 of “Mia’s favorite books”. Part 1 can be found HERE.
De Winkelstraat
Our most recent addition, by Ingela Arrhenius. And now that I’m looking on her website, I might need more of her work; I adore her style! We already have the “Animals” book, but when I bought De Winkelstraat I didn’t know it was from the same illustrator. I was tipped on this book by Boekwijzer, and she shares a lot of great tips so if you’re into books, she’s a great one to follow!
The very busy spider/De spin die het te druk had
I’ve talked about “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” from Eric Carle in my previous post, but a while ago I got Mia another one of this books, about a very busy spider. We love his style of illustrating and short sentences, very doable for a 2-year old. I need to buy more from him for sure!
Woezel & Pip
I’m starting to notice a huge love of Woezel & Pip from our daughter, ever since we got some books from them. And I agree, they have very nice books that all feel very positive. So it should be on our favorites list!
Het sprookjes prentenboek
By Caroline Ellerbeck, I bought this book at Dille & Kamille. What’s great about this book is that it’s purely illustrations, so you can make up your own story around it. You can tell the classical fairytales it refers too, but with 2-year olds you can make anything you like out of it. And it’s beautifully illustrated as well!
So those are our recent favorites! Don’t forget to read part 1, if you haven’t already. I will definitely share more of these in the future, and let me know if you have any favorites I haven’t mentioned yet! Thank you for reading ♥
